Please allow for variations in color due to individual computer monitor settings as well as natural variations.

Soap nuts growing on trees have a natural yellow hue and turn darker with age.  However, many soap nuts you see in the US have a dark color, indicative of other naturally occurring chemicals present in the shell and how they react to moisture, temperature and oxygen over time.  A common misconception, the darkness does not correlate with a higher saponin content.  We award grades to soap nuts based on color and age.

All soap nuts are harvested from Nepal.
